Finalists in prestigious Yorkshire tourism awards

Date: June 20, 2019

Patrington Haven Leisure Park has been named as a finalist in Yorkshire’s leading tourism awards.

The family owned and managed park close to the East Yorkshire coast has been shortlisted in the 2019 White Rose Awards, which celebrate the very best in food, drink, accommodation and attractions across the region.

Patrington Haven Leisure Park is a finalist in the Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year category, which recognises holiday parks, sites and villages which provide truly memorable guest experiences and demonstrate excellence across every aspect of the business.

Offering an award-winning, five-star experience in 40 acres of tranquil countryside, Patrington Haven Leisure Park provides the perfect place to rest and relax.

The business is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year and has achieved remarkable growth, with turnover rising from £2.7m in 2014 to £5.6m last year, with a record £6m forecast for 2019.

After investing £5.5m in its Country Club and site infrastructure over the past five years, the leisure park is continuing to push forward with new services for its owners and the local community, such as launching a takeaway delivery service and an innovative mobile app.

Becoming a finalist in the 2019 White Rose Awards is the latest in a string of accolades for the park, including winning the Remarkable Holiday Park/Holiday Village in the Real East Yorkshire Tourism Awards (REYTAs) in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

It also won the Visit England Gold Award for exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service 2018/2019, as well as being named in the Ward Hadaway Yorkshire Fastest 50 list of the region’s fastest-growing companies in 2018.

Managing Director Guy Sparkes said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be named as a White Rose Awards finalist.

“Having been recognised as the best in our industry in East Yorkshire for the past three years, it’s now great to gain Yorkshire-wide recognition in such prestigious awards.

“Just to be shortlisted alongside some fantastic leisure venues is a brilliant achievement, especially as Yorkshire is such a hotbed for tourism and holiday businesses. We’ve looking forward to the awards evening and we’ve got our fingers crossed for the big night!

“Our growth and success is totally due to our fantastic staff and owners, who have helped us to get to where we are today. I can’t thank them enough.”

A total of 103 finalists are in the running to win one of the highly-coveted prizes at the White Rose Awards, which are organised by Welcome to Yorkshire and will take place at the Leeds First Direct Arena on November 25.
