The Meridian East Yorkshire Coast 10 Miler

Date: May 21, 2018

The ever so popular East Yorkshire Coast Meridian Race took place on Sunday the 20th May 2018 here at Patrington Haven Leisure Park and we were proud to host the start and finish of the race.

The race is known to be ‘possibly the flattest 10-mile road race in the UK!’ and all of the wonderfully determined athletes completed it.

The community spirit was high with competitors coming from all over the country to compete. There were a mix of local running clubs, including East Yorkshire Fit Mums, Roberttown Road Runners and Withernsea Harriers, as well as, fellow Country Club members and determined individuals.

Roberttown Road Runners

The race was hosted by Cannonball Events as one of our fellow owners on the park is involved with the company and we were keen to get involved! Following last year’s success of the Ultra Marathon, the Meridian East Coast 10 Miler was just as fantastic with local running clubs coming together in one place. Community spirit was high and the park was beaming as you can imagine.

Huge congratulations to Robert Weekes who completed the 10 mile race in just 57 minutes, coming in at the fastest time!

What’s great about the Meridian?

Apart from the fantastic community spirit and it being possibly the flattest 10 mile road race in the UK, the route is a ‘great out and back road race on superb road surfaces on idyllic quiet country lanes’, perfect for everyone!

Here at Patrington Haven Leisure Park we love being at the heart of the neighbourhood and love to be involved in superb events such as this one.

There was sweat, there were tears (of joy of course!) and it was overall, a splendid day. Check out some photographs from the event and see if you can spot yourself! To see even more photos head over to The Country Club Facebook page here https://bit.ly/2IwVkAV

A big thank you and well done to all the runners, we hope to see you at the park soon!
